Crazy Few Days

Sorry for having been so quiet lately. Mommy has been to and fro the vet since Sunday. Thankfully, NONE of us were dragged along. We'll let Mommy explain.

Mommy here :
Long story short, I have been spending a lot of time with my friend at the vet, keeping vigil over her cat who was in very bad condition with suspected poisoning since Saturday. Sadly, despite the best efforts, the cat passed away today, Tuesday evening. We were with him right till the end.

Till today, we have no idea what poison he could have ingested and how. He was a stray cat that appeared in my friend's life about a month ago. She had him neutered and was about to get him vaccinated before bringing him indoors to join her cat family. Then this happened.

We do not know if he was intentionally poisoned by people who are not tolerant of animals but I have some things to say to people who think that poison is the way to "get rid of the problem". Poisoning is a terrible way to end a life. Especially a life of an innocent animal who does not know he's not allowed on your car or that the grass in your garden is different from the grass outside where he does his potty or for just being born a rat. There are humane ways of keeping them away instead of resorting to poison or pesticides or weedkillers. The suffering the animal has to go through after being poisoned is just plain awful. And death is not instant. It takes days....days of pain and endless suffering. Please. No animal INTENTIONALLY does things to annoy humans. Just shoo them away if they do things you do not like. As for rats, well, keep drains clean and garbage in properly closed cans. I could go on and on but I shall stop here.

Run free, Bosco, and fear no pain or suffering because the Rainbow Bridge has none of that.

We will be back to regular posting and commenting tomorrow, Wednesday. Thank you for letting me vent.

  8. I am so sorry to hear this. We know about those people and we think you said it perfectly.
My Vickie gets in trouble with people because if there is a rat in the area she uses live traps and re-locates. Most people are intolerant of that and really give her a bad time. But we re-locate to an area where they will do no harm to anyone or thing.

Your best advice was for people to clean up after themselves. Don't leave food around, especially if you are feeding ferrel cats in areas rats can populate.

Oh my, this will probably just go to your spam folder so we will stop babbling.

So sorry about your friends kitty.

    Love
    bert

  11. I have leaky eyes about this as I am passionately for animals. The vile dregs of so-called humanity who inflict suffering pain and death on innocent little ones WILL be held accountable. If not now, then later. Every hair on the innocent animals body is counted just as they are counted on we humans. Both are precious in His sight and these monsters will reap the consequences what their actions wrought upon innocent lives.

  16. I am also sorry to hear about this. It really is a shame that people just do not understand what consequences their actions have. Even if this wasn't intentional, someone did something at some point that caused this..

    It is just sad.

  23. You have a right to vent!! Very sad when that happens. I have been noticing in the press here just lately that more and more cats are being poisoned by cruel people doing it on purpose!! It is heartbreaking, but the police don't see it as a priority!!

  24. We feel so badly for you, your friend, and especially poor Bosco. People sometimes do terrible things--I cannot understand it. I hate to be vengeful but I hope Karma will catch up with the poisoner.

We are so so so sorry to hear about Bosco. That is incredibly sad, we hope that it was unintentional. WE pray it was. We cannot imagine what anyone would gain by doing something so malicious. We are purring for Bosco's family and we bow our heads and say a prayer for rest and peace for him now.

  33. This is a terrible story. We are so sorry about it and once again, people prove just how ignorant and hard hearted they can be. How do they sleep at night? Or look at themselves in a mirror?

  34. I am so sorry for Bosco and it is absolutely heartwrenching to know how he must have suffered, the poor furry soul. I completely agree with you... there are so many ways to keep animals away ( well, I don't even mind snails, I feed them salad!), I don't have rats as I keep everything tidy. If a cat jumps on my hood to keep warm in the winter, I am happy to see those paw print on my hood in the morning... especially if they are muddy. I don't even clean my car! Animals just don't know the are things we humans thing they shouldn't do.

  35. Oh, Jesus, this kind of indecent person who poisons the animals exists everywhere! We always know in Brazil, cats in one neighborhood are poisoned by someone who doesn't like them. This is very sad!
I'm so sorry for Bosco. I'm sure he is now in a place where everybody loves cats!!
