Pok, our guinea pig (December 19, 2007 - May 5, 2014) also chose to run to the Bridge today, at 1549 hours. He, too was in my arms with Daddy next to us as he transitioned. We buried him with his brofur pig, Curly (March 20, 2007 - October 6, 2013).
It has been a very difficult day but we are truly grateful that both Whisky and Pok chose THEIR time to run to the Bridge and allowed us the opportunity to hold them as their transitioned.
We are so sad you lost two beloved pets in one day. Run healthy and free, Whisky and Pok!

How desperately sad, I cannot believe Whisky is gone. I can barely write this as the tears are pouring down my cheeks. He was quite the most gorgeous dog and so adored by you and all of us that you shared his with. It is so sad to have lost both fur darlings but I hope they keep each other company till everyone is reunited again. You will be in my prayers tonight.

......and St Francis gently picked up both Whisky & Pok and carried them into the kingdom of heaven.....
when Whisky & Pok looked around, they realized
everything St Francis told them on their journey was true....heaven was beautiful beyond what mere words could express.....
...... and Whisky & Pok saw there was no pain, suffering, fear, sickness, hunger, thirst or sorrow, until they looked down and saw the family and friends they had left behind.
......and for a very brief moment, they were also filled with sorrow.
Then St Francis bestowed both Whisky & Pok with a set of gossamer wings and said,
"Use them to return to your family, when their need is the greatest, as nothing can separate your bond of love.
Hold each other in your hearts and your memories, until you are reunited again at heaven's door."
and when they tried on their wings, they both knew nothing was impossible...... when there is....love

I just read about this on Kim's blog and my heart is breaking for you. I am so deeply, deeply sorry. I think Pok and Whisky wanted to be together. I had so hoped that Whisky would have been able to give you more time together but this was the way it was meant to be. It doesn't lessen the pain of losing two wonderful friends though.
