What Would Mommy Think Of Next?

Mommy's parents came over the other day with this monster contraption! Mommy had asked her daddy to help build it as he is very very good with his hands. And he did a wonderful job!  Thank you so much!

Are you able to guess what it is?

It's a drop trap!
It's ready to be used. Any volunteer? There'll be treats after
Can you guess who volunteered?
So cat walks into baited trap, Mommy yanks rope, trap drops...hence, the "drop trap"
Side door is opened, cat walks into carrier
Cat Volunteer poses nicely for photo
Now, give me my treat!
Thank you for volunteering, Boomer
There's a gap at the bottom to prevent "accidents" such as a broken tail or paw
This is to show the size of the trap. It can even capture a few cats at a go
Another awesome feature is that the trap can be dismantled
.....
For easy storage
There have been several new strays that Mommy plans to TNR. She says she'll try the trap out next week. Wish her luck! Meanwhile, she can *test* it out on us as many times as she likes as long as there are yummy salmon treats after.  Heeheehee.

  8. Oh, I have heard about these, but never seen one. We had a feral a few years ago who was very trap smart and we sure could have used one of these traps.

  9. MOL, Your Mommy needs a bigger carrier cause we could get out of the top gap between the carrier and the side opening. We are clever that way and good at escaping. Miss Mouse might even be able to squeeze out of the bottom gap cause she is like extra tiny. ~Socks, from The Tabby Cat Club

  26. Wow, amazing device. I think your Mom's dad did a wonderful job on it... Why are you going on a TNR spree?

By the way, regarding Buchi's bath, as Carolyn had mentioned, heat is major ingredient to make the bath enjoyable.

  28. Oh that is so wonderful. Wow, your Dad did such a good job. That is so much easier than trying to get them in a have a heart trap. I would have loved to have something like that many a time.
What ever happened to the Black kitty?? I am so excited for you. Boomer, you sure did a great job of testing that trap. Bet you were surprised. I am so proud of ya for getting that built.

  34. That is great, I would love something like that but bigger so my foster cat could sit in the sun

  35. thats a very clever contraption! it must be much harder to capture stray kitties then it is to round up stray dogs since dogs seem to approach humans when they are lost/hungry.
