The trap works like a mouse trap. See the ginger cat? He's my neighbour's cat. NOT the intended target. |
SHOOO!!!!! Mr Ginger kitten starts to eat up the tuna. |
SHOOOOOO!!!!! |
Now Mr Ginger's older sister decides to check out the tuna |
All the while I was trying to remain quiet and hidden, Noni (neighbour's cat) decides to keep me company by rubbing and mewing |
HEY YOU! SHOOOOOO! |
Mr Ginger couldn't resist the tuna and finally got himself trapped. HAPPY NOW? |
I'm going to try to camouflage the trap with some leaves and twigs and see if it helps. But first I'll have to speak with my neighbor to lock up his cats for the night.....And remember to put mosquito repellent the next time...

Better luck next time!
At least you know the trap works! I did have to giggle at Noni's 'help' too!
That is too funny. I know it wasn't funny for you. I think asking the neighbors to shut their cats up for a little while is such a good idea. And camourflaging the trap is good too. Don't give up. You just need to keep the other cats away. Nice try though. Take care.
I can't release Maggie until she trusts me enough to come back and eat. She can't go back to the place where she was, since that house is for sale.
We are sorry but we laughed and laughed at your post today. Remember to put on lots of insect repellent for next time and lock up the cats!!
Hope you catch Mr Black.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
Yes, I trapped more than my share of raccoons and possums when trying to trap TomTom...took 6 months and finally a larger 'raccoon' trap. I covered the trap in a white plastic shower curtain, and started out with the food right in front and gradually moved it all the way to the back. At first he would crane his neck real long to reach the back and miss stepping on the plate that shuts the door. Oh, for a while I also wired both doors open so he could walk all the way through without anything happening. And I eventually gave up on trying to trap him at night and just left the doors closed so I wouldn't have to deal with releasing other critters!
Oh, thanks for your Mo-Cats Day comment on our bloggie! So true!
Oh he is a clever boy, and he probably was laughing!!!
My Mom had a Blackie that she tried to catch for a long time. She did finally catch him but it took a long while!!
Good luck and thanks for your visit!!
Tinker came through her surgery just fine and I can't wait till she is home!!

Hopefully next time....
I commend you for your persistence! I have to admit this was funny. I can't believe Mr. Ginger walked right in! Anything for yummy food I guess. You are so good to help Mr. Black and to go this trouble.
Hang in there!
:))))) I am sorry sweetie for your long endurance, it was for a lovely cause. I have the feeling Mister Black is too sharp for these trivial traps, you might need to consider another way to get him. You should write a lot more, I had a lot of laughs, you are great, kiss kiss kiss.
I LAFFED..Mommy laffed..we're so sorry because we KNOW it's not funny but we just laffed. Mr Black says he will come back for more intertainment and I hope the neighbors cooperate. It's a small wonder Boomie didn't investigate.
xxoo
We think Mr. White told Mr. Black to watch out for you! We hope he lets his guard down sometime and gets in that trap!
I think you will outsmart Mr. Black eventually...but it might take awhile. ;-) He's a smart boy!
I guess Mr. Ginger got a real surprise. Hope you are able to get Mr. Black, that's real good of you to try to help him out.
Hahaha ! sorry, but your story makes me laugh ! such an effort to catch that cat and the neighbor cats spoil it all ! what an adventure ! I just imagine you hiding attacked by moskitos ! Horrible !
Shoo! I laffed all over again. Mr Boomerang, please cooperate better by not telling the other cats how disappointed you are. Show your manners. xxoooxxx
Oh, how frustrating! I'm sure those kitties loved the treats they found.
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Oh Mr Ginger...you are natural born comedian, I'm sure. I hope you can get Mr Black next time. (Must be tough. He sounds smart to stay away from the trap!) You are so wonderful to care about him and try to help.
Have a happy weekend!!
The way Tinker acts, it is like she didn't have any surgery at all. I know she did, I can see the incision.
She is wilder then before.
God I hope she doesn't open herself back up!!!!
xx, Tinker & Fern
PS, I love your visits!!
You have clearly gone nuts, MOL. hey, why not ask a jungle Jim type to help you? Or an ex-army man? I shall see who I can come up with....
Purrs are on the way, Boomie and thank you for telling me. You have the best manners. Your mom does a great job teaching you babies good manners. xxxooo
Hi! I have an award that I want you to have. I hope you can stop by and take it with you :-)
It looks like a little tuna is the way to trap a cat... even though it was the wrong cat it still worked! :-)
Haha! Mr. Ginger is probably wondering how this all happened! All he wanted was a snack, and he got trapped!
We hope you have better luck with Mr. Black next time!!
you deserve an award or a treat yourself after all that adventures! hehe. also, you have a story to tell at parties.
