Tasty Tuesday...Or Not

Cosmo : What's this?
It's a raw diet. Aren't you excited?
Cosmo : Err...it says THAT BLOODY DIET. Is that supposed to be good?
Boomer : Did someone say BLOODY DIET?
Boomer : Mmmmm....That's Bloody Good!
Ling : Yup, this is Bloody Nice!
Cosmo?? Aren't you going to give that a try?
Tutu?? What's wrong?
Felix : * sniff sniff lick sniff sniff *
Coco : Err...you can have all of that, Felix
Felix : I think MOMMY should have all of it!
Meow-Me : Sorry, but I have to.....:: RETCH ::
Cosmo : Are you done playing games, Mommy? Is that my canned food dinner?
Yes it is, come and get it!
:: GAG ::
But it has your favorite Freeze Dried Chicken sprinkled all over!
Cosmo : YOU can have it
Freeze Dried Chicken for you, Tutu?
Tutu?
Tutu : I'm OUTTA HERE!
I had recently transitioned all the cats (except for Tutu - sadly, she's become a kibble addict) to canned. Due to stomach sensitivity, I only get carrageenan-free, grain-free and fish-free canned food for them. Unfortunately that means only THREE options are available, and to make things even more unfortunate, 2 weeks after transitioning the cats, I find out that the one they all agree on will no longer be brought into the country. So I turn to Option 2 and guess what? They have not been able to bring in the food in the last 6 months due to new documentations required by our Veterinary Department. Option 3 isn't something the cats like.

As my intention was to actually get them to eat raw ultimately, I thought this would be a good time to give raw a try. This raw diet is made locally so sourcing shouldn't be a problem. But 2 out of 7 means it's back to the drawing board. Plus after eating the raw on the first day, Ling and Boomer decided that raw isn't something they like after all. Which is a pity because this is good raw food!

Looks like I have no choice but to revert to cooking for the cats again while I try a much slower process of getting them to accept raw. Cosmo will be my biggest challenge because the other 6 will at least eat pieces of plain raw chicken.

Happy 14th Birthday, Whisky!

Tutu : Yup, looks about right
Good. Can I cover up the dehydrator now, Miss QCC (Quality Control Cat)?
Tutu : Oh wait! This piece needs to move a little to the left...There. Done!
Many hours later....
Tutu : Ahhh....PURRFECT chicken jerky!
Tutu : Now, for the grand unveiling....
Cosmo : * sniff sniff sniff *
Tutu : HEY! It's NOT for you!
* B O X *
Cosmo : Owwww!
Tutu : Have you forgotten it's Whisky's Birthday today? Jeez!
Tutu : HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY, Whisky! I didn't forget and I made ALL these chicken jerky just for you. Do you like them?
Whisky : Ohhhh. They smell delicious!
Tutu : I'm sure you'll share them with me and only me since I'm such a good sisfur, right? Heehee
Whisky : How come I only get to eat ONE piece? Open up the box this instant!
It's because there's yet ANOTHER surprise for you, sweet girl
Whisky : OMD, can you believe this? CHICKEN PUFF just for me!
Whisky : Hurry hurry hurry and put down my bowl!
Whisky : Yum YUM!
A very HAPPY 14th BIRTHDAY, Princess Whisky!
We LOVE you, sweet girl!

Thankful Thursday

We want to thank all our furriends who commented on our previous post. Because of our fear of strangers, Mommy thinks it is probably best to take us to the vet rather than have a vet do a home visit as that might make us more fearful. As for the vaccination protocol, she will go with "less is more". YAY!  Thank you again for sharing your views with us!

What is your order today, kids?
I recently started the kids on a raw diet which only appeal to Whisky, Boomer, Tutu and Felix. Coco will eat raw turkey but not raw kangaroo. Cosmo, Ling and Meow-Me won't touch it
Tutu : Raw Turkey!
Whisky : Raw Chicken for me, thank you!
Boomer : Mine would be Raw Kangaroo!
Felix : I don't mind some raw kangaroo too!
And you, Coco?
Coco : MEH
A full tummy makes for a happy mancat.....
Like a python after a meal, the little girl sleeps....and there is peace in the house of Whisppy
Ahhhhh. This is the life....dreaming of kangaroos perhaps?
But all too quickly, the little girl is up and on the go again...
Tutu : Hey Spitty! Come on over and I'll teach you how to have lots of fun with a towel!
Tutu : But NO DROOLING on my towels!

We are so thankful for this super yummy diet (and towels)!
