Tutu Tries To Be Helpful

Tutu : "There there, you'll feel better soon enough"
Tutu : And I'll add a little bite of love to hasten the process. Heehee
Ling : Ouch! That hurts!
Tutu : I was just trying to help you feel better. You're so ungrateful
Ling : Yeah, I bet you were. You little pest
Tutu : Call me a pest, will ya? I'll show you what a pest is
Whisky : With 7 cats causing havoc in the house, I'm the only one who keeps Mommy sane. *smile*
Ling didn't eat her dinner last night (homecook) nor did she want her breakfast (kibbles) this morning. She is otherwise her normal self. I brought her to the vet this afternoon just to be sure and he couldn't find anything medically wrong with her. Hopefully it's just a case of her being a little picky with her food (she shows interest in food but walks off after sniffing at it) and that she'll be hungry enough to eat her dinner tonight. If necessary, I might crack open a can of tuna to see if that gets her attention (the last resort as I want to avoid tuna if possible - she gets addicted).

Felix Update

I brought Felix to the vet on Saturday morning and the vet couldn't find anything wrong with him.  He has no fever and bladder was empty (and he's not dehydrated), no detectable mass in the abdomen...he has had all his vaccinations and been dewormed as recently as last month.  The vet gave him an antibiotic injection to cover any possible trouble in his gut.

Later in the evening, I force-fed Felix with some steamed chicken.  He fought when I pushed it in his mouth but would swallow once the chicken was in.  After a few small pieces, I let him go and he was crunching at something so I opened his mouth and discovered he was chewing on some loose teeth. Which is understandable as he is now almost 6 months old.  2 of the pre-molars were dangling so I used a forcep to lightly tug at it and they came out easily.  He has another 2 that are still half embedded in the gums so I left those alone.  He may be sore from the loose teeth which would explain the not wanting to eat, and his lack of interest to play.  But it doesn't explain why he vomitted in the first place.  Good news is that he didn't vomit after eating the chicken last night.  And I have seen him pee (nice sized puddles) so I know he's drinking.

I force-fed him some canned trout today (nice and cold to soothe the sore gums) which he ate (and no vomitting!).  I hope when there's more food in him, he'll perk up.  It's so sad to see him so miserable.

Wonder if the cat toothfairy will pay for these?  :)

A positive sign!  Felix grooming himself

Poor Felix looking at his mum and sister playing

Felix likes to play with crunched up paper.  He was definitely interested in the paper but I think he just doesn't have the strength to play at the moment.  So he walked over to watch Coco play with it.

Meow-Me : It's okay Felix.  You'll feel better soon.  Make sure you eat what the human gives you, okay?
Please continue to send those purrs coming his way.  It's most appreciated.  :)

Some Loving Needed

I fell down the last 3 steps of our staircase recently while carrying Whisky (after she had a slipped disc of her neck, the vet suggested that we carried her up and down the stairs as much as we can).  Thank goodness I managed to move her before I landed and she ended up sitting on my lap.  She got off and turned back to look at me as if to say "how did we end up down here?".  I was so relieved that she wasn't injured at all.

My foot was bruised but I could still walk so I went on about my business.  Later that afternoon, the pain got worst so a quick visit to the doctor and a dose of pain meds later, I was feeling much better and able to move around freely.  Now everytime I walk down the stairs with Whisky in my arms, she looks at me and says "careful Mummy, careful now....".  LOL.

I need some vibes for Felix who is feeling under the weather.  He was fine on Thursday and ate his biscuits on Friday morning.  Unfortunately, I found that he had vomitted some partially digested biscuits and lots of fluid in the evening.  He isn't his usual playful self and didn't eat much of his dinner.  He did drink his water and he isn't dehydrated.  He also played a little when I took out the feathers but he is definitely not his usual self.  And he vomitted some water after eating his dinner.  Meow-Me and Coco are fine.  It's off to the vet if there's no improvement tomorrow.

Please send some love to little Felix!
