When I first caught Meow-Me, she was very pregnant with Coco and Felix. Fast forward 11 months later, she STILL looks as pregnant as when I first caught her! BTW, she's spayed so there is NO way she is pregnant in anyway.

Meow-Me is a a rather small framed cat but look at the size of that tummy! She was 3.5kg the last time we weighed her. Coco is the same frame size as her and only weighs 2.9kg |
|
I can barely reach my ears.....stop nagging and come help me scratch, will ya? |
|
Meow-Me, the poster girl for "pear shaped" |
|
And here she is, on the stairway to tubbiness....notice how her tummy hangs down? |
|
Being "locked up" while her children finish their food |
|
I am NOT fat! |
I had cut down her meals for some weeks now and couldn't understand why she was still so tubby. Then I found that she would take over Coco's kibbles after finishing her own, then move on to finish Felix's. And this meant she was eating meals for the equivalent of almost 3 adult cats per day (Coco and Felix eat kitten portions so it's twice the adult meal size and they usually would have eaten half of it when Meow-Me takes over).
So now Coco and Felix get adult portions (since they can't finish the kitten portions) and as soon as Meow-Me finishes HER meal, I take her out until her everyone's done eating. Let's hope this will help her trim down (I've brought her to the vet to make sure there's nothing wrong with her and he checked and said she was just fat).
Boomer wants to thank everyone for their purrs and well wishes. His wounds have healed nicely. He still isn't allowed outside as the monsoon season is here. Rain, rain and more rain!

NO, you aren't fat. You're adorable!!
You are definitely NOT fat Meow-Me it's the camera - it always adds on extra roundness.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
You are precious and adorable AND...feminine! But yes, a little less tummy would make the scratching go easier. Your mom did the right thing locking you up for the children to eat without your help.
Boomie..it was all those kissies you got on your hurtie from all the girl cats, right?
Glad to hear that Boomer's leg is healing up.
We love meow-me's markings. We don't think she is that fat but she probably doesn't need to eat all that food every day.
Listen, what ever happened to the black cat you were trying to catch?? If you wrote about it, I missed it.
It is okay Meow-me, you just be you! I am glad to hear that Boomer is healing up nicely!
Meow-me, you are very clever on getting three meals! Bummer you got figured out though. We think you look purrfect!
Meow-Me you are such a cutie - even with your belly :)
She is a smart kitty to get the others food :) heheh
she is adorable. Might I ask as a cat lover and owner to another, how do you manage the pet odor issue in the house? I can barely handle it and I try all sorts of tricks...
I saw a movie in the 70's that was about a dyslexic girl and she went to a teacher who taught her to look only at one letter at a time in a word and that would help her to not get thoughs letters mixed up!!
That really did so much for me. Then in 09 the computer came into my life and that has helped even more!!! And here I am talking with you and loving it!!
xx, Happy & Fern
You're a very curvy and gorgeous girl!
I'm sorry - it appears Mr Darcy may have been giving Meow Me tips... this is exactly what he does if he gets the chance! Now Sookie is fed at a higher level than Darcy so she gets her fair share and he can't have secret extra nibbles (Mr Darcy is not a jumper you see, the highest he can manage is the sofa!)
And I always thought that only human were on the stairway to tubbiness?
God Bless and have a Wonderful Week :-)

Meow-Me you are one smart kitty :)
Sorry that you mom caught you in action with da other cats food :(
I definitely remember Meow-Me! It sounds like she's like Lucy. Lucy eats so fast in the morning. I'll feed them and then get ready for the day. I suspect that Lucy steals Annie and Simba's food once she's done with her own. I'm sure the weight will fall off Meow-Me now that her extra meals are being cut off.
I'm so glad to hear that Boomer is healing well!
You're not fat, just fluffy!
Nubbin wiggles,
Oskar
Aww, your round belly is cute. Rocket would have a belly like this if I didn't seperate him and yuki during meal times.
"She's just FAT" As if! Well, I wonder what that Mr. Fancy-Pants VET looks like with HIS clothes off! How RUDE! Let's take some pictures of HIS belly & post *them* on the Internet!
I think you look just perfect!
Meow-Me is a sweetheart, love her markings. We are fans of the pear shape at my house! Glad to hear Boomer is healing well.
Hey, what's wrong with a bit of belly hanging down, we want to know! We don't think you're fat at all, Meow-Me, don't listen to your human. ;-)
Nice to meet you! Thanks for visiting our Fuzzy Tales blog...We'll add you as a subscription in Google Reader now, so we can keep up with your adventures!
oh i've missed a lot of news! can't check blogspot at work anymore... anyways good luck meow-me with the diet! she can't help that the food is so good ;). glad to hear boomer's better! poor thing.
I got worried that something might be wrong with Meow-Me with the big belly. But I'm glad to read that you've already taken her to the vet and found nothing was wrong. She is just fat! Haha. I hope taking her out until everyone finishes eating will help her lose weight.
I'm happy to see Boomer's wounds have healed!
No sweeties you are not fat. I love the hammick.
Emma and Buster
Funny how tummies are. Some kitties look really sleek until you look underneath, hehe! Meow-me is beautiful. I hope your measures to keep her from overeating will work.
Thanks for coming by my blog with your well wishes!
Tom

It is really hard when you think OH BOY I'm getting High speed!! Then All kinds of crazy things happen. I might have to wait a couple weeks now!!! Darn!!!!
