Are you able to guess what it is?
It's a drop trap! |
It's ready to be used. Any volunteer? There'll be treats after Can you guess who volunteered? |
So cat walks into baited trap, Mommy yanks rope, trap drops...hence, the "drop trap" |
Side door is opened, cat walks into carrier |
Cat Volunteer poses nicely for photo |
Now, give me my treat! Thank you for volunteering, Boomer |
There's a gap at the bottom to prevent "accidents" such as a broken tail or paw |
This is to show the size of the trap. It can even capture a few cats at a go |
Another awesome feature is that the trap can be dismantled |
..... |
For easy storage |

I KNEW it would be MY Boomer! I knew it would!!He's so brave and true and helpful!!! xoxoxoxox
That is a fantastic ob of work. Your Grandpa really knows what he's doing and how to DO it. I'm imoressed!! xoxoxo
That is darn cool and will sure be super useful!
What a great idea for catching the unsuspecting victim. We were very impressed with Boomer showing us all how it works.
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx
wow - that is awesome!!! hope it works as well on the ferals as it did on Boomer.
We're very impressed with your mom's ingenuity and wish her the best of luck. She's a wonderful human, to do this.
Oh, I have heard about these, but never seen one. We had a feral a few years ago who was very trap smart and we sure could have used one of these traps.
Your pal, Pip
MOL, Your Mommy needs a bigger carrier cause we could get out of the top gap between the carrier and the side opening. We are clever that way and good at escaping. Miss Mouse might even be able to squeeze out of the bottom gap cause she is like extra tiny. ~Socks, from The Tabby Cat Club
That is a super way to catch kitties without hurting them. Your humans are so clever.
And so kind. To take care of strays like that.
Sometimes our clients make donations to help out the homeless that end up here. do you guys take donations to help cover costs
can you email me if you do

Maybe we could send you a little bit to help.

My sister Constance has her check-up next week. Any chance my peep might be able to borrow that contraption? You may think I'm just kidding... but... noooo. You don't know my sister.

very nice! I like the paint job too! The take-apart option is nice, I built one awhile back that doesn't come apart and storing the thing is a challenge!

Wow look at that thing! Good luck with the strays! I really want to organise a group to help feral cats... Something I'm working on ;o)
Wow, what an excellent job with the trap! You thought of everything and the workmanship is great. What a good fellow Boomer is to volunteer. Believe me, no one here would do that. We'd all be UTB.
WOW!! The Human's dad has so much talent! The best part is that he even thinked of a way to avoid potential paw or tail injuries! Your people ROCK!!!

Kat, Pedro, Yasmin, Maori, Hope, Faith and Jo the rabbit!
Wow, amazing device. I think your Mom's dad did a wonderful job on it... Why are you going on a TNR spree?
By the way, regarding Buchi's bath, as Carolyn had mentioned, heat is major ingredient to make the bath enjoyable.

Very clever!! Perfect for catching a furbaby that is too scared to come to humans but needs help. Well done!
We caught our Melody in a live trap to save her life. She's been such a blessing as a member of the family now.
Oh that is so wonderful. Wow, your Dad did such a good job. That is so much easier than trying to get them in a have a heart trap. I would have loved to have something like that many a time.
What ever happened to the Black kitty?? I am so excited for you. Boomer, you sure did a great job of testing that trap. Bet you were surprised. I am so proud of ya for getting that built.
Wow Cathy - your version of the drop trap can be dismantled! Fantastic job! Praise to your dad for wonderful work.
I'm sure you will have great successes.
All the best,

Hi furiends! Just stopping by to say hi today! Hi Boomie. Guess what? I hear Katie might need some company this weekend. I'm closer, you know, so I don't mind covering.
That is great, I would love something like that but bigger so my foster cat could sit in the sun
thats a very clever contraption! it must be much harder to capture stray kitties then it is to round up stray dogs since dogs seem to approach humans when they are lost/hungry.
Your mommy is an astonishing human being that I love dearly. I've learned so much from her. The new..tool is lovely and very smartly built.
What a great thing that your mommy has found a safe way to round up those strays.... beautiful
Just wanted to thank you for all your purrs for Knuckles this week. I know that it helped he get better.
pawhugs, Max and HH.
Wow! That's quite the rig and is very efficient, too! Your grandpa is a genius~!
