Felix All Grown Up

It seem like just yesterday that I caught Meow-Me and she gave birth to Coco and Felix 2 weeks later on 9 December 2010.  At 9 months old, it was time to send Felix to be neutered.  I had brought him to the vet last week to be assessed and the appointment was made for this morning.

He cried and shouted all the way to the vet and finally hid under the newspapers (he's never been alone before). The surgery went smoothly and I went in to accompany him in the recovery ward.  When he was more awake, I brought him home.

Help!  I don't like this place!

Felix in the evening.  The vet said she couldn't get a vein as his fur was too thick so she had to shave some fur off

Felix doing what he loves most.  Carrying his feathers all over the place.  He was still rather subdued but alert

Dinner time!
I am going to keep him in the carrier for the night, next to the cage so he is still close to Meow-Me, Coco and Boomer.  He has been sleeping soundly since having his dinner.

Felix, my mommy loves you and said you are gorgeous. And your tail makes a glorious exclamation point. Feel all better soon sweetheart. Love to you, Meow-Me, Coco and certainly Boomie.

Oh his poor little face in that first picture, it reminds me of when we took Mr Darcy in - according to the veterinary nurse he didn't stop howling from when I left until they gave him the anaesthetic, he didn't like being left there.
Felix looks like he's taken it in his stride though, I bet he'll be zipping around tomorrow :)

Felix - we know and understand how you feel - in fact Lucy always hides under something in her carrier on the way to the vets and Hannah is always sick on the way there so when mum gets there she has all clean things in the car to change in Hannah's carrier before the vet sees her! You'll be better tomorrow and while they are feeling guilty milk it for all you can!!
Luv Hannah and Lucy xx xx

What a cutie he is. And smiling too, the brave boy. Maybe it's because he can now date safely??

A good thing done ! I remember Arthur was a little groggy for some hours but the next day he was his old himself. With females it's more complicated.I had never noticed that Felix has a striped tail ! It looks as if it was cut off from a grey cat and glued on him. Mother Nature has a lot of phantasy when it comes to cats !
