An Indoor Garden

We've been looking around for "cat grass" for a while now without ever realizing that our favorite juice bar sells Wheatgrass, all grown up and ready to be eaten AND organic too! So we bought some the other day and presented it to the furries.

What?  I'm allowed to EAT this?
Whoa...is this for real?
Are you chewing on this plant?  Do you want Mommy to shout at you?
Didn't you hear?  She said we CAN EAT this!
Meow-Me : Uh, Boomer, you're supposed to smell the green bits
Boomer : But look at the potential mess we can make with the brown bits!
Okay, okay.  I'll give the green bit a try
Oh COD!  *gag*  Mommy!  You expect me to LIKE this?
Heh heh...look at how those little brown bits are coming apart....
It seems that only Cosmo and Boomer were interested in it.  Actually, probably just Cosmo.  Boomer just wanted to play with the soil after that one attempt at eating the grass.

Just like children would play with boxes when given a present, Soil is much more fun!!

oh yummmm - I love to eat grass outside. (Meowing at M - you gotta get me some of dat grass stuff.) You are so lucky to have that at your house and inside yet.,

Our mom usually has cat grass on the go for us too, in winter. Nicki likes to nom it, but never eats that much. Derry might have a nibble now and then, but that's all. Both prefer "real" outdoor grass in our back space, not sure why. Derry will eat quite a bit of that!

I call this cat salad ! Don't need it because there is plenty of grass outside. The trouble is, they eat the grass outside and then come in to vomit inside !
Grass is good for the stomac (not for the floor !)

Oh fun. Lucy loves cat grass but I should just grow it myself. It's a little expensive at the pet supply store and it's just a small container and doesn't seem to last long. I'm interested to see how long yours last. Anyway, maybe the others will come around. All the kitties look so cute checking it out and Boomer cracks me up.

Wow, such a salad bad you have!!!

Wow that sure looks like good eating to us. But we are not big on eating grass but then Mom hasn't given us any lately. She needs to grow some for us. Glad to see that some of you are enjoying it. Looks like Boomer doesn't think it is too great. Oh well.
By the way, we feed the fish at the bottom every day. They are really hungry.

Boomie darling..Katie here. I am borrowing my angel sisfur's bloggie for a bit.

Admiral said what a romeo and what a poet you are and how careful of a lady's feelings you are. I am intrigued. I am four years old..and inexperienced. Mommy said I am a total love bug and love snuggles and lovins 100% of the time.

That was pretty smart! I agree with brian, you have quite the salad bar growing there!

oh yeah they chewed all my plants, my beautiful plants and they all ignored the wheat grass. Especially Mister Miaw, he was crazy about my tropical flowers. Consider yourself lucky to have such well behaved boys and girls :).

We love indoor grass but haven't had any in a long time. Wonder why? MOMMY!

Boomie, My Man! I see you need some education in the fine art of grass-appreciation! You need to sniff deeply of it the fine aroma! Chew many tender stalks, and then (BEST PART!!) BOMIT them up again on the good rugs or your Humans' BEDDY! Ha ha ha! So much fun!!!

What did you expect? You gave them permission. Cats don't like anything they have permission to eat. It only tastes good if they are not supposed to eat it. :)

O Boy thats great that you can buy it ready to chew !
Yse Mr Google translater did translate my post today right :)
So yes you can wonder why you want to learn how to sleep all night if you are a night animal !

I agree with Jan & #39. Cats want to steel a bite!!!
The Christmas cactus only blooms at Christmas time!!! I just love them!!!
I loved our lettuces too!!! We will start another garden next month. Start planting our seeds for next spring and summer. We love our organic vegetables!!

We're very interested in this post because Mommy said she'd get us some of that - and we're curious as to how it's reeeeeally gonna taste...For instance, is it as good as the nommy OUTSIDE grass? Inquiring Kittehs wanna know!

Yummy! Even if only one cat truly liked it, it still looks like all of the kitties were at least entertained by it for a while :) I didn't realize "cat grass" and "wheat grass" were one in the same... I'll have to keep that in mind for all my kitty friends! :)

That grass looks nommy!! We don't get grass much anymore because all we do is yak it up again. It's the gift that keeps on giving!! ;)

Where did you buy this, Cathy? Emanar is looking for some.

BTW, Target is much better. Thanks for the purrs!

Curious kitties :) I've thought about getting some cat grass, but I don't know if the babies would like it. Maybe Boomer will come around and enjoy the grass as well as the dirt. ;)

We haven't eaten our cat grass so mum stopped planting any for us.
