Tutu Tuesday

Cosmo : Mommy lured us in here with those yummy bonito flakes...but why? Why is there a table covered with a towel? Something smells fishy and I don't mean the bonito flakes!
Ling : I don't like this one bit!
Tutu : Why are the both of you grumbling? I see nothing wrong and this towel smells just like Whisky!
I made an appointment with a vet to do a house call and vaccinate all the kitties
Tutu : I thought you said someone was coming to give us treats, Mommy? Where's this mysterious person?

Tutu : We've been stuck in here for the last 2 hours! All the talk of treats has made me hungry!
Tutu : HUNGRY, Mommy, HUNGRYYYYY!
Tutu : Good Cod! Were you lying to us, Mommy? There's no sign of the mysterious person!
Tutu : Oh well, I'll just practice toesie flirting. Is it working?
After waiting for 2.5 hours, I finally allowed the cats out. Guess the vet didn't want my business (this is my THIRD attempt with this vet). After all, it's *just* 7 cats, right? But a call would have been appreciated.

Everyone has had their complete kitten shots while Meow-Me and Boomer had their vaccination as adults. I did a little more research on vaccinations and I am inclined to believe they do not require boosters as their risk of exposure is almost zero since they are totally indoor cats. Rabies shots are not compulsory here.
Vaccinations can be a controversial topic so it is always best to speak with a vet to get their input. But it is just as important to do your own research on the risks and benefits of vaccinations. :)

What do you kitties think about having a vet do house calls? Especially kitties who aren't fond of strange people. I am pretty divided on this as on the one paw, having the vet come to the house would reduce the stress of traveling. On the other paw, being prodded and manipulated in what is deemed their "safe place" may be even more stressful. What do you think?

Tutu Tries To Be Helpful

Tutu : "There there, you'll feel better soon enough"
Tutu : And I'll add a little bite of love to hasten the process. Heehee
Ling : Ouch! That hurts!
Tutu : I was just trying to help you feel better. You're so ungrateful
Ling : Yeah, I bet you were. You little pest
Tutu : Call me a pest, will ya? I'll show you what a pest is
Whisky : With 7 cats causing havoc in the house, I'm the only one who keeps Mommy sane. *smile*
Ling didn't eat her dinner last night (homecook) nor did she want her breakfast (kibbles) this morning. She is otherwise her normal self. I brought her to the vet this afternoon just to be sure and he couldn't find anything medically wrong with her. Hopefully it's just a case of her being a little picky with her food (she shows interest in food but walks off after sniffing at it) and that she'll be hungry enough to eat her dinner tonight. If necessary, I might crack open a can of tuna to see if that gets her attention (the last resort as I want to avoid tuna if possible - she gets addicted).

Tutu and Bernie Thursday Vet Visit Update

Tutu here : First of all, we would like to thank Oui Oui and her Mommy for teaching us how to cartoonize ourselves. Oui Oui's Mommy cartoonized Bernie and MommyCat did me!

The vet visit on Thursday went very well. The vet tech whisked me to get an x-ray done and my fracture has healed and my bones are looking great! Yeay!! Now I get to run around all day and follow MommyCat everywhere.

Tutu : How do I look?
A funny feeling has come over me.....
Tutu's first experience with a silvervine leaf
I can't stop rolling around
Help! My world has turned upside down!

Bernie here : My stitches were finally removed on Thursday and everything looks great! I'm adapting very well as a tripod bunny and I'm so happy the awful collar is finally off.....at last!
Bernie : Didn't Oui Oui's Mommy do a good job?
My Mommy added the beach balls
The stitches are OUT, OUT OUT! Yeahhhhhh!
Itchy ears...itchy ears...dang it, I'm scratching and scratching but why isn't the itch going away?
This is where I come in and help....
Thank you for everyone's good wishes. I'm doing very well!
Tutu and Bernie are now back in good health and we are so grateful for all the good wishes, purrs, woofs and prayers from everyone. Thank you so much!

Whisky Speaks

Hey everyone! It's me, Whisky. Did you all miss me? It seems like MY blog has been sabotaged by the kitties.

Mommy brought me to the V-E-T last week for a "general checkup". They took my weight (5.2 kg or 11.5 lbs), stole my blood (my results were normal) and touched me all over then declared me healthy. I could have told them that, silly peeps! And if only Mommy listened to me, she could have saved all that $$$.

Whisky : Uh, Mommy, can we go home now?
Whisky sitting on my lap as we wait for the blood test results
Would you like a tomato, Whisky?
Whisky : Ack. Smells icky
How about a carrot?
Whisky : That's more like it! YUMMY!

Silly Meow-Me and Naughty Bernie

Meow-Me thinks she's a koala-cat
See how clean my towel is? Yeah, that's right, Mommy. It's because I'm not wearing that ridiculous cone!

As most of you know, Bernie had his left foot amputated on Friday. We went back to the vet on Sunday to get the bandage changed and his incision was healing very nicely.  When we got home, we removed the e-collar so he could eat and groom himself. A little later, we went out to get some groceries and when we got home, the collar was off, his bandage was almost off and he had pulled out a stitch, leaving a little gaping hole. We bandaged him back as well as we could and brought him to the vet on Monday. And it was then that the vet declared he had not only ripped out one stitch, but he had also loosen a few other stitches which meant the stitches had to be removed and the site stitched up again.  Bernie, Bernie. Now when we put the collar back on, we have to do the "tug-test" to make sure it's very secure. My heart thumps harder and louder every time I check on Bernie for fear of what I may find...

Bernie has also been throwing tantrums every time he has his collar on. He would pee and scatter poop all over the towels instead of his litter box (he's litter box trained) which means there's that many towels I have to wash. Today, I put bed pads on top of the towels, so hopefully it helps to make cleaning easier.

I really hope there will be no more "excitements" until 7 June when he goes back to the vet to have the stitches removed. We'll try to visit everyone soon...till then, don't forget us!
