Baby Alert!

Another customer of mine was outside her house and heard a kitten crying last Saturday. After a while, she realised it was coming from a garbage heap. She lifted the garbage bags and found the little kitten in a box...alone, and obviously abandoned. She thought it belonged to a cat who liked to hang out at her neighbor's home and so they decided to leave it at the porch, hoping the mother would take it back.  The mother did not, even after several hours. She has no experience raising kittens this young so asked if I could help. So the little kitten has been with me almost a week now and we think she was abandoned from birth.  Which would make her 6 days old today.

Little kitten is a tortoiseshell and quite certainly a girl
She is very active and loud when it's time to eat / pee / poo and isn't difficult
She has a very very good appetite and drinks her milk without any fuss
Fast asleep on her warm sock (filled with rice)
She stays at our living hall where only Whisky, Cosmo and Ling move freely.  My main concern would be that her immune system is weak as she didn't get her mother's milk (colostrum).  The plan is for me to look after the kitten until it's old enough to eat on it's own and litter box trained then my customer will take her back for rehoming. If anyone's interested to adopt her, please leave me a comment.

I've been really tempted to call her Chewy as she looks a lot like Chewbacca from Star Wars.  :)  My customer called her Rubber Seed as she very much resembles one (her colours and size of her head).  She'll most likely grow up to be very pretty like Isabella.  Anyone want to suggest names for her?

Oh my stars!!! Oh she is BEAUTIFUL!! But it's so sad that she was abandoned like this - I hope it wasn't deliberately done by some bad person - I hope her mum is ok out there somewhere too! Oh dear, what a sweetiepie!

I'd call her Sweetiepie for now! LOL!

She is very lucky to be cared and loved by you all - thank you for looking out for her - we hope she does ok. Oh I'd love to have her if I were over there - truly!

Take care

Oh I am so happy that this beautiful girl was saved. I was about to say what mommy always says..that all pets should be spayed and neutered but then, you know that as does everyone reading this bloggie. Beautiful girl and I call her Star.

Oh what a precious little baby! We're so glad she was found and is doing so well! I didn't come here until I was 10 months old so my mommy would love to have a little Tortie kitten but you're a little too far away! Plus the mean Border people take stuffs.

Purrs,
Isabella

That's a lucky kitten to be found and cared for. Hope it thrives and gets a good home.

I'd call her Lucky, since she was lucky enough to be found and cared for by loving humans, instead of the awful people who put her in that garbage!

Poo baby, I can't believe someone would abandon a kitten like that. I am so happy she is rescued, and she is eating well and be so active.
I love the name Chewy. She does look like Chewbacca and it's a cute sounding name too :-) If I suggest, I like to call her Hope.

Chewy is good. Not too feminine or dainty, but I think she's a tough little girl, so yeah, Chewy.

She is one lucky kitty and I'm glad she's doing so well. We'll keep her in our thoughts and prayers as she progresses. I like the name you gave her. We're partial to two-name kitties here: so, Daphne Marie might be one we'd suggest.:)

She's so pretty and helpless poor kitty :(. It hurts me so to see abandoned animals. In my village, idiot peasants would often abandon newborn kitties or dogs on my doorstep because they knew i did not have the heart to let them unattended. Have I told you already how much I admire you > :)? i guess I have.

Oh what a sweet baby! We like Chewy too. Sending big purrs her way. You are such a great Mom.

Chewy and Chewbacca are both my nicknames at my previous job! hmmmm.....
